Tannin & Oak

‍

Tannin & Oak is an intimate restaurant, cocktail bar and lounge in the heart of downtown Alexandria. The menu is built around shareables — designed to be passed around the table, so the meal is a shared experience from the first bite to the last pour.

Curiosity

Every bottle at Tannin & Oak has a story, and the team loves telling it. The bar features an evolving selection of rare and allocated spirits from around the globe, from small-batch bourbons to artisanal gins. The cocktail program is inventive, with house-made infusions, artisanal garnishes and new flavors, textures and techniques. The wine list rotates through ever-changing varietals from small, sustainable wineries, with a focus on the winemaker, the terroir and what makes each wine unique. Come ready to try something you haven't had before.

Connection

The menu invites you to pass plates, share bites and sample a little of everything. Shareables for the whole table turn dinner into a conversation, whether you're catching up with old friends, celebrating, or sitting down with someone new. The sophisticated space is made for lingering, and the evening unfolds at the pace of the people you're with.

Hospitality

Tannin & Oak offers a welcoming, polished experience for guests who appreciate the finer details. The team is as happy to guide you through the wine list or recommend a cocktail as they are to talk through the menu. Whether you're a spirits enthusiast or just curious, you'll be looked after. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 5pm until late, with Sunday and Monday available by appointment.
